Infection House is committed to publishing a diverse range of voices and perspectives on life during the Coronavirus pandemic. We accept reporting, narratives, fiction, interview proposals, and DIY guides.
We’re especially interested in work that offers usable, helpful information to readers.
No previously published work, please. Simultaneous submissions are accepted, but please notify us as soon as possible if your work is accepted elsewhere.
PROSE: For first-time contributors, we’re looking for stories between 700 and 1,400 words.
Journalism, how-to guides, and nonfiction: If you want to write nonfiction, we ask that you submit a 1-2 paragraph pitch of what your story would be about in lieu of a finished piece of writing.
We ask for pitches because we want a sample of your voice and to let you know if it’s something we can publish. Pitches also help us encourage and support the piece as it grows. Here are some good introductions to pitching. Magazines we’re inspired by include The Awl, Popula, and The Outline.
You can send pitches directly to joe at infectionhouse.com. Please include “PITCH” in the subject line.
Fictions and Journals: see the form below.
